Box Breathing

It all begins with breathing. Have you tried inhaling and exhaling out of your nose? Holding your breath after your inhale and after your exhale can improve your body’s ability to use oxygen in your bloodstream. It can also help calm your nervous system.

Box breathing includes these steps:

  1. Breathe in for a count of four (sounds like: inhale, two, three four)

  2. Hold the breath for a count of four

  3. Exhale for a count of four

  4. Hold for a count of four.

  5. Repeat steps 1-4 for 2-3 minutes.
